McDonalds double drive-thru location stays fully operational during asphalt milling & repaving project.
Project Summary
Diamond Solutions worked with the corporate office of a well-known fast food chain to repave a double drive-thru location’s parking lot near Grand Rapids, Michigan. The restaurant needed to stay fully operational, with little to no downtime, during the project.
The project included an asphalt mill and overlay for areas of the parking lot in better condition around the perimeter of the concrete drive-thru and its entrances and exits. It also included a full asphalt mill and pave for the route around the restaurant that experiences the highest regular vehicular traffic. The main drive-thru concrete approaches were still in good condition.

Key Project Outcomes
The project was completed successfully, on time and with minimal business disruption. With proper maintenance, the new asphalt will last the location for the next 20 years.
Minimized business interruption.
The restaurant location was able to remain open and serve customers during the project. Diamond phased the project plan to ensure that key work was performed during off hours and successfully coordinated with the customer to ensure that the work did not interrupt deliveries to the restaurant. Traffic control included routinely moving barricades around the restaurant as the work progressed.
Completed on time.
The mill and overlay and mill and pave were completed within 2 days and Diamond returned to stripe within a few days after, for an on time completion. Diamond also always showed up to complete the work exactly when they said they would, as the working times were planned specifically to minimize downtime.
